Imagine is proud to present Seussical the musical in 2026!

 Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza that is fun for the whole family! 

 The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. 

Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. 

Auditions 

1/24/2026 (3-6PM)

Auditions will be first come, first served.  No need to schedule a time; simply show up at a time during the audition window that works best for you.  If this date doesn't work for you  email office@imaginepnw.org and we'll figure out something else.

Material

• Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of Seussical. Please bring sheet music for your prepared piece; a pianist will be available. Acapella is ok, please no tracks.
• Each person will be asked to read an excerpt from a Dr. Seuss book. Selections will be available at the audition. You may prepare and bring your own excerpt if desired (~45 sec in length).
• Please fill out this form and provide a headshot or photo. Hard copies will also be available at the audition. 

Call backs

Those invited for a callback should come prepared to sing and read from the show.
